Are you a traveling nurse or therapist on assignment in an urban area such as Boston, San Francisco, Dallas or NYC?
I recently moved from Kansas back to my home state of Massachusetts. Driving in Kansas was so easy and I didn't need a GPS. However, when I came back to New England, my native territory had changed so much and I was so lost!
That is until my friend told me about Waze, a GPS app you can download on your smart phone for free.
Free? Who doesn't like free!
Many of my friends in New England use Waze and love it too. It's great because it is updated by users in real time. When you're driving in the Boston area, for example, traffic is always a concern. Especially if you're a traveling nurse or therapist and you're trying to make it to work on time!
If there is heavy traffic on your route and Waze knows of a better route to get to your destination more quickly, it will automatically reroute you. On top of that, it will alert you about construction, accidents, and police on your route before you approach them. It will also let you know what time you should arrive at your destination.
You can also compare gas prices and navigate to the cheapest gas station in the area. The money you save means more money you can spend on exploring your new home away from home!
The only downside to Waze I've found is that it uses data. If you have limited data on your phone, you will want to be careful you don't go over your allotted data.
